The Viking L-3 gate operator offers efficiency and technology combined in a single package.The Intelligent Obstruction Sensor, the self-adjustment to environmental changes, the fast and accurate reading of various signals involving a gate installation along with an indicator control are managed, captured, monitored and executed by a very high speed multitasking processor.This multitasking processor is capable of acquiring, computing, filtering and making adaptive decisions in real time, making the Viking L-3 gate operator a very intelligent access control solution.

Its single stage helical worm gear system increases the efficiency over traditional gate operators 30% - 40%. The advanced electronic technology and adaptive algorithms make the L-3 the first of its kind in access control. The motor is of the highest quality, using class-F insulation for safety and is also designed to reduce arching and extend the life expectancy of the brushes.

The L-3 operator is equipped with a Fail-Safe/Fail-Secure feature. With a simple on-board jumper removal or replacement, the unit is capable of being back-driven; this complies with the fire authority's need to push open the gate during an emergency without the use of special equipment or knowledge.
