The Linear LRA Electro-mechanical system is designed for residential applications and utilizes the new APeX gate operator controller, which features a streamlined design and improved diagnostics and communications.The new LRA is an electro-mechanical screw drive with a 24-volt DC motor.
Made of sleek aluminum to make it more weather resistant, the LRA features a usable stroke length of 16 inches, and can handle a maximum gate weight of 600 pounds.
The LRA offers superior reliability, using magnetic reed limit switches built into the arm for reliable mechanical setting and repeatability.
The LRA can be used in either single-gate installations or dual-gate installations. The LRA is powered by two 7 Ahr batteries that can be charged using AC power or solar power with the addition of optional solar panels. The batteries and the APeX controller are housed in a fiberglass enclosure.
The APeX features an integral entrapment sensing system with a digital set point, so it can be adjusted quickly for ease of installation. It also features an integrated selectable pre-start warning alarm to indicate gate movement.

The Linear LRA, when powered by solar panels qualifies for a homeowner 30% tax credit of the value of the operator system.
The US Federal Government is offering financial incentives to homeowners for the use of solar powered systems at their home. Homeowners are able to apply for a Federal Tax credit equal to 30% off the installed cost of their Linear Solar Powered Gate Operator System.
What is Covered: This solar system Tax Credit applies to the total installed cost of the solar gate opener system. This includes the related solar panel, opener, access control device, remote controls, obstruction detection device(s), etc.
What is Not Covered: The cost of the gate itself, or work required to place the physical gate into proper working order (leveling the gate, replacing hinges, etc.)
Qualifications:
- The installation of a Linear Solar Gate System can qualify for a 30% tax credit on the installed system cost
- Effective for tax years beginning after December 31, 2008
- You will need to use The Federal Tax Credit form 5695, Residential Energy Efficiency Property Credit
